Sizerville State Park Environmental Education Programs 
Weekend of August 1st & 2nd

 Program Title: Women “Man” Fire Towers – Guest Presenter 
Date: Saturday, August 1 st Time: 3:00 PM 
Location: Environmental Learning Center 
Description: Fire towers have always been a vital tool used to protect Pennsylvania’s forests.  Although most towers were staffed by men, many women have “manned” tours as lookouts over the years. 
 Join Jennifer Haines from the PA Lumber Museum to learn about some of the women who have played vital roles in keeping Penn’s Woods green. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 
Program Title: CCC History at Sizerville 
Date: Saturday, August 1 st Time: 8:00 PM
 Location: Campground Amphitheater 
Description: Did you know that there was a CCC Camp located right here in Sizerville State Park from 1933 - 1935?  Come to this program to learn about the history of Camp S-85, what exactly these men did for the park, and how their legacy is still alive today.  Short talk followed by a movie on the CCC—feel free to bring snacks and a blanket!   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 
Program Title: Nature Craft & Story 
Date: Sunday, August 2 nd Time: 10:00 AM 
Location: Environmental Learning Center 
 Description: Come down to the ELC and join the park educator for a short story followed by a make and take craft. This week’s topic will be butterflies! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
