Arthur Adam Beidler
Arthur Adam Beidler (“Art”), 87, of Reston, Virginia, formerly of Hedgesville, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at Reston Hospital Center, in Reston, Virginia, on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
Art was born on November 3, 1938, in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Jonathan Warren Beidler Jr. and Liselotte Beidler, and the fourth of seven children.
On July 10, 1965, in St. Mark Catholic Church, he married Susan Carol Smith, who preceded him in death.
Art was a painter, a poet, an avid gardener and plant whisperer, as well as a star gazer. He was a world traveler, a crossword puzzle aficionado, and an avid reader who owned an enormous collection of historical nonfiction. He loved listening to classical music, and when you entered his home, you were often met with the beautiful sound.
Art graduated from George Mason with a B.A. in Geography.
He proudly served his country throughout his career. He spent 24 years in Air Force intelligence, working as a photo interpreter and imagery analyst, providing intelligence from aerial reconnaissance photos and satellite imagery. During the Vietnam war, his unit was assigned to the CIA to support the then-classified A12 OXCART, the world’s fastest and highest flying reconnaissance aircraft.
Notably, Art’s unit found the missing USS Pueblo, which had been hijacked by the Government of North Korea.
During his 12 years supporting the Vietnam War effort, serving in Asian countries that included Thailand and Japan, Art was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal; the Vietnam Service Medal, with two Bronze Stars; the Air Force Outstanding Unit Medal, with Valor; and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm—among many other citations.
Upon retirement from the Air Force, Art was employed by defense contractor SAIC, where he continued his career in spy satellite imagery, working on contracts for the National Reconnaissance Office to support the Department of Defense and Intelligence Agencies. After retiring from SAIC, he was elected president of the Roadrunners, the alumni association for the A12 spy plane.
During retirement, Art was able to enjoy his lifelong passion for nature after he and Sue built a log cabin on a hilltop in West Virginia, surrounded by many acres of woods and a stunning view of the mountains. He spent almost 20 years there, happily puttering in his workshop, which he jokingly called “Area 51.” He enjoyed the friendship and community offered by the Tomahawk Presbyterian Church until he became too ill to attend.
He’s survived by his loving children, Adam Beidler (Jane), of Reston, Virginia, and Barbara Beidler Bohlinger, of Jenison, Michigan; four grandchildren, Kyle Bohlinger, Claire Bohlinger, Robyn Bohlinger, and Claire Collins; brother Robert Beidler (Jennifer) and sister Lisa Gathman; sister-in-law Joann D’Ambrosio (Jack) and brother-in-law Steve Smith (Vera); along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susan Smith Beidler; his siblings Jonathan Beidler III, Richard Beidler, Karen Chalfont, and Raymond Beidler; nephew Evertt Beidler; and son-in-law Patrick Bohlinger.
Family and Friends will be received at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth St., Emporium, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, July 8, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, where a video tribute will be shown.
A celebration of life service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 11 am, with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, pastor, officiating.
Military honors will be accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail at St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium, immediately following the service.

Flood Control in the First Fork: A Historical Overview and Film
Showing - Completed in 1956, this year marks 70 years of flood control service for the George
B. Stevenson Dam.
Join a park educator for a presentation about the construction and the
history of the dam as well as a showing of home video of the dam construction. The footage
was taken by Gilbert E. Kyle, an engineer for Gannet, Fleming, Corddry and Carpenter, the
architecture firm that designed the George B. Stevenson Dam, during it's construction from
1953 to 1956.
This presentation will take place at the George B. Stevenson Dam overlook.
Please
bring lawn chair to enjoy the film. In the event of inclement weather the program will be held
in the wildlife center classroom.

Richard E. “Dick” Logue
Richard E. “Dick” Logue, 78, a lifelong resident of Austin, passed away with his loving family by his side on Thursday, June 25, 2026, after a brief illness.
Born on Sunday, June 29, 1947, in Coudersport, he was the son of Earl T. Logue and Betty A. (Jeffers) Logue. Following the death of his father when he was three years old, his mother married Bernard Cooney, who lovingly raised him. On February 4, 1967, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin, he married Carol J. Cussins, who survives him.
He was a graduate of Austin Area High School Class of 1965 and was a graduate of Franklin School of Science and Arts in Philadelphia.
He proudly served his country in the United States National Guard from 1968 to 1974. Following his military service, he dedicated 34 years to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation before retiring. He was an active member of the God’s Country Global Methodist Church and the Emporium Country Club, where he enjoyed the fellowship and friendships he shared with others. He was a former president of the Austin Volunteer Fire Company and served on their Board of Directors.
He dedicated more than 30 years to coaching boys’ and girls’ basketball at Austin Area School, positively impacting generations of student-athletes both on and off the court. An avid golfer, he cherished the many days spent on the golf course with his special group of buddies, where friendship and laughter were just as important as the game. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors.
He never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel like a lifelong friend. Blessed with the gift of conversation and humor, he genuinely enjoyed visiting with people and sharing stories. Most mornings you could find him along with the “Coffee Club Group” at Big Mikes Dairy Dine doing just that. Dick was a true gentleman with a kind heart, he was deeply devoted to his family, whom he loved beyond measure. He also had a special affection for animals.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife and best friend of 59 years, Carol; his son, Kurt (Julie) Logue; three cherished grandchildren, Kal Logue, Kade (Jordan) Logue, and Kina (Nick) VanWhy; and two adored great-grandchildren, Von D. VanWhy, and Vivian F. VanWhy; two brothers, Randy (Nan) Cooney and Denny (Kim) Cooney; and nephews, Josh (Staci) Cooney, Joseph Cooney, Andy (Christy) Cooney, and James Cooney. His two beloved fur buddies Gilby & Sonny will miss their rides in the car and the comfort of his lap.
His greatest joy was his family. He treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren, whether coaching them, walking the golf course together, driving them to practice, or simply sharing life lessons. He was their biggest supporter, greatest encourager, and a true-life coach. His time, unwavering dedication, and unconditional love helped shape the people they are today.
He shared an especially close bond with his son, Kurt. More than father and son, they were best friends. One of the greatest honors of his life was standing beside Kurt as the best man at his wedding, a reflection of the deep love, respect, and friendship they shared.
In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by several grandparents, aunts, uncles and good friends.
The family extends special thanks and heartfelt love to their lifelong friend and “like a son,” Mike Bauer, for the time, care, and support he shared with the family during this difficult time.
Family and friends may gather from 11:00am to 1:00 pm on Monday, June 29, 2026, at God’s Country Global Methodist Church, 26 Turner Street, Austin, Pa where funeral services will follow at 1:00pm with the Rev. Todd Lamer, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Austin.
Members of the Potter County Honor Guard will accord military honors on Monday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dick’s name may be made to Austin Vol Fire Company, PO Box 328, Austin, PA 16720 or to God’s Country Global Methodist Church, PO Box 8, Austin, PA 16720.

Ronald G. Breniman
Ronald G. Breniman, 59, of St. Marys, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Penn Highlands DuBois with his beloved family by his side following a lengthy illness.
He was born on November 5, 1966 in Clarion, PA, a son of Samuel Breniman, who survives of Emporium, and the late Kathryn Renwick Breniman. The family moved to the Emporium area in 1973, where Ron attended school and graduated from Cameron County High School. After high school, Ron proudly enlisted in the National Guard, where he served until receiving a medical discharge. He was very proud of his service and remained a steadfast supporter of the military throughout his life. Ron later worked at a few locations but loved his job at Reliable Vending.
Ron was a simple man who found his greatest joys in the outdoors, especially spending time hunting with his son and sharing the beauty of nature together. Together they enjoyed every outdoor adventure, especially hunting, fishing, canoeing, and camping with family and friends. Ron passed his love of nature down to his son, Zak, where they spent and enjoyed many years canoeing down the Clarion. Ron had a gift for storytelling, captivating family and friends with tales that brought laughter, wisdom, and memories to life. He also enjoyed good food, took pride in cooking for those he loved, and always appreciated a good meal shared around the table. Music filled his heart and was a constant source of comfort and happiness throughout his life. Above all else, Ron cherished his family, and nothing brought him more pride and joy than being a grandfather. His grandson was the light of his life, and the love they shared will remain a treasured memory for all who knew him.
In addition to his father, he is survived by one son; Zak Breniman and his wife Janice of Kersey, and by his grandchildren, Madyson, Lane, Isaac, Maleena, and Kai, all of St. Marys. He is also survived by one brother; Ken (Tim) Breniman of Oakland, CA, and by his grandmother; Jo Breniman, and by numerous extended family members.In addition to his mother whom he adored, Ron was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, his maternal grandparents, and by numerous aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life for Ronald G. Breniman is being held privately by his family.
