Born on September 30, 1942, in St. Marys, PA, he was the son of the late C. Edward and Violet Smith Zerbe.

Mike was a graduate of Cameron County High School and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1967. During his military service, he was stationed in Vietnam from 1965 to 1966. Mike enjoyed a long and dedicated career, working for more than 37 years at Keystone Carbon in St. Marys.

A faithful member of St. Mark Catholic Church, Mike was also a life member of the Miller-Raffaele Post 6221 VFW. He was well known throughout the community for his generosity and compassion. An avid blood donor, he donated more than 39 gallons of blood over his lifetime, helping countless individuals in need. Though a big man in stature, Mike was remembered most for his kind, gentle heart and the quiet way he cared for others.

He enjoyed antique cars but, Mike found his greatest joy in his family. He is survived by his daughter, Sarah (Kevin) Wright of Shipman, Virginia; his son, Dan (Becky) Zerbe of Reading, PA; four beloved grandchildren, Viva and Iris Zerbe, and Henry and Sally Wright; and his sister, Marie Dandois of Indiana, PA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Zerbe, who died in infancy.

Family and friends will be received at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 10:00 to 10:45 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, serving as Celebrant.
