Since I am a member of the Sylvan Heritage Council, I would like to add this to the weekly post.

During tomorrow night's Christmas parade and tree lighting festivities, the Sylvan Heritage Council will have a table set up in front of the Chamber of Commerce, with some hometown gift ideas!

We will be selling our vintage Emporium calendars ($15), our personalized zip code ornaments ($15), and five different versions of our Westerwald Pottery mugs - Emporium, Cameron County, Sinnemahoning, Driftwood, and Sterling Run ($18).

Something new this year, our very own Karen Jiang created these beautiful cork wreaths; we have a limited number of them for $25.

We also will be selling chances on our famous wine & ornament basket, with the winner to be chosen at the end of the night.
Stop by and see us! Merry Christmas from all of us!!

Mountain Paws Grooming and Boarding Parade Request

Mountain Paws Grooming and Boarding

We're doing it again this year and we need your help!
Because of things happening in my life lately we decided not to do our little float and to just have dog walkers in the parade!
WE NEED YOU AND YOUR PUPS!
We would love to have a big gathering of dogs. The parade starts Friday night at 7 pm.
We will meet at the 4th street school at 6:30- just look for the lit-up dogs.
If you have a dog that doesn't bark, gets along well with other dogs and isn't freaked out by the crowds we would love to have you join us! Decorate your dog with Christmas lights, costumes, whatever you want! Dogs must be on a leash at all times! We can't wait to see you Friday night!!

Old Fourth Street School is for Sale

Old Fourth Street School is for sale.
Sharing as many of you from this area have memories associated with this school.
I went to 5th & 6th grade there. I am not sure how many went through the building after me but eventually all 5th & 6th graders were relocated to the addition on the elementary school near Woodland Ave.
 Let's hope for the best.
That whoever buys this property, it is a well thought out investment for our county.
