🚨 NETWORK ALERT: Cell Service Outage 🚨
We heard reports from first responders Company 16 that cellular service and Windstream landlines are down in the “Down County” Cameron County area. Driftwood/Sinnemahoning.
📱 Affected Carriers: AT&T and Verizon are confirmed to be down at this time.
Status of other major carriers is currently unknown.
🛑 HOW TO CALL 911 IN A DEAD ZONE:
If you have an emergency, try dialing 911 from your cell phone anyway.
•Even if your screen says "No Service" or your specific carrier (like AT&T) is completely down, federal law requires any available network network (like Verizon) to pick up and route a 911 call.
•If your phone can catch a stray signal from any tower nearby, your emergency call will still go through.
If you cannot get a call to drop through, please utilize Wi-Fi calling if you have working home internet, or report to the nearest Fire or Ambulance Station where emergency personnel are stationed.
If you are traveling through the area or trying to reach loved ones, expect communication delays.
