Cameron County Conservation District
This past Friday, the District held its Wild About Nature Field Day trip at Sinnemahoning State Park. Students at Woodland Elementary School in grades 4th thru 6th had the opportunity to get outdoors and learn about survival with Nelson Haas and Vince Hornung of Cameron County Search and Rescue; Bird tour with Don Bickford of CCOYA and the Districts Mark Johnson & Marsha Hendrickson; and streambank erosion with Kim Lott and Susan Schenck of Sinnemahoning State Park.
The students also were presented a Birds of Pray presentation by Falconer Jeremiah Weber. Jeremiah gave a presentation and demonstration on the two birds he had on hand a Red Tail Hawk and an American Kestrel.
Thank you to all the presenters, staff, students, and teachers for making this WANFD a huge success. Also Thank You to the Vets Club in Emporium for the sandwich donation for presenters and teachers.
