Mary Virigina Stamberger - Updated Obituary

Updated Obituary

Mary Virigina Stamberger, 96, of Hernando, FL passed away on August 30th, 2021 at her home. She was born to the late Ralph and Alice (Quigley) Hout on December 10th, 1924 in Emporium, Pennsylvania. She was a hairdresser for many years but her number one and considered most important job was raising her children and taking care of her family. She had a strong devotion to and was an active member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

Mary loved God, the Church, her family and friends, puppies and ice cream (but not necessarily in the order.) She was a talented seamstress, knitter, and crocheter, and enjoyed making and donating her crafts to those who could benefit. During her years in New Jersey she was an avid volunteer in such organizations as SWIM, Inc. (New Jersey) a program for adults with MS. She also taught CCD at her church. Above all, she will be remembered for being a kind, sweet and generous lady who genuinely loved people and who everyone loved back.

Mary was preceded in death, along with her parents, by her beloved husband of 44 years, Merwin, who passed in 1991; her daughter, Suzanne; her son, Jeffrey; and her two sisters, Veronica and Eleanor. Those left to cherish Mary’s memory are her children, Gary A. (Ginny) Stamberger of South Carolina, Judith L. (Robert) Lincoln of Florida, Janice DeMassari of New Jersey, Kimberly (Jerry) Colavito of New Jersey, and JoAnn (Michael) Venditto of New Jersey; her 13 beloved grandchildren, Heather, Danielle, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Russell, Jenna, David Kyle, Jason, Brett, Kimberly, Julia, Michael Jr., and Kelly; and her adored 14 great-grandchildren, Markie, Elizabeth, Emily, Stephanie, Jake, Owen, Hazel, Nicole, Krista, Kyle, Anthony, Willa, Adeline and Bodi. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on September 14th, 2021 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Beverly Hills, FL. Prior to the services, there will be a visitation at 9:30 a.m. at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home. Following the conclusion of the services, a procession will take place to Florida National Cemetery where Mary will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Merwin. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Our Lady Of Grace Catholic Church, Beverly Hills, Florida.
