Program Title: All About Owls
Date: Monday, October 20 th
Time: 4:00 – 6:00 PM
Location: Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library
Description: How many owls are in PA? Where can you find these nocturnal birds
of prey? Join the park educator at the library for a hootastic program all about
owls! Participants will learn about PA owls & what they love to eat. There will be a
short talk & a special story time. Attendees will also get to dissect their own owl
pellet to discover the mysteries behind an owl’s favorite food. Open to all ages &
young children should be accompanied by an adult for this activity.

Note: This program is NOT taking place at Sizerville State Park. The program
will be held at the Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library, 27 West 4th
Street, Emporium, PA.

Program Title: Northern Saw-whet Owl Banding + Halloween Hangout
Date: Saturday, October 25 th
Time: 7:00 PM
Location: Sizerville State Park Maintenance Division
Description: Owls, bats, and spiders - oh my! Come out to Sizerville State Park for
this 2-in-1 event featuring Owls & Halloween!
Join certified bird bander, David Hauber and his wife, Fay, as they attempt to band
Northern Saw-whet Owls right here in Sizerville State Park! We will have a short
presentation on PA owls followed by instructions on what to do and expect during
the bird banding demonstration.
Wear sturdy shoes since we will be walking on
trails, and feel free to bring a water bottle, snacks, flashlights, and lots of layers!
There will also be some Halloween-themed games and festivities available after
the owl presentation - costumes are encouraged!
