Emporium Rotary Club
On Thursday, October 23rd, our Club held our annual Paul Harris Recognition Award Dinner.
Paul Harris, a Chicago based attorney and organizer of the first Rotary Club in 1905, began with 3 clients and businessmen, "in fellowship and friendship".
Harris realized that Rotary needed a greater purpose thus initiating its first public service project, the construction of public toilets in Chicago. Since that time, Rotary, the world's first service club, evolved, and subsequently created Rotary International.
This award is presented to a Rotarian who exemplifies "service above self" throughout Rotary and the community. Presented this year were past president and board member, Michael Daley, and board member and "all over the place" member, Paige Rosenberger.
They both are well deserving of this prestigious award!
