Cameron County Farmers Market
We’re excited to welcome back a returning popular vendor — local crafter Sue Dechant of Jewelry Makeover — with exciting new creations for this year’s market season!
Sue has expanded her line beyond her beloved jewelry collages to include a delightful variety of handcrafted treasures.
This year, you’ll find:
• Gorgeous bracelets made from safety pins and recycled jewelry
• Decorative stuffed apples — available individually or in charming basketfuls
• Hand-decorated picture frames
• Graduation-themed decorations
• Whimsical Christmas tree ornaments
If you are feeling in a crafty mood yourself, Sue will also have crafting kits of various themes for sale. They contain all the ingredients you will need to make your own stunning creations so you can buy a bagful of fun and get crafting!
Sue’s original passion project began with turning vintage jewelry into vibrant collage scenes — from serene oceans to blooming meadows — all thoughtfully arranged in up-cycled frames. Encouraged by the support from friends and family, her hobby quickly blossomed into a growing collection of quirky, joyful home décor that she now shares with the community at our markets.
Each piece Sue creates tells a story, brought to life through clever arrangement of repurposed materials found at yard sales, secondhand shops, and local markets. Her work continues to be a conversation starter and a wonderful addition to any space — playful, sustainable, and always one-of-a-kind.
Come meet Sue and see her newest creations this Saturday, May 10th from 9am to 12pm at the Emporium Town Square. You’re sure to find something special!
