CC Farmers Market Introduces Alpaca Creations!

Cameron County Farmers Market

Today we are welcoming back our local Alpaca Artisan — Teresa Genaux with Alpaca Creations!

If you’ve visited our market before, you’ll likely recognize Teresa’s vibrant booth, overflowing with hand-knit alpaca fiber creations. Teresa transforms the raw fiber she gathers — thanks to her daughter, Robin Kuleck, who lovingly raises the alpaca herd at Little Red Barn Farm — into wearable art.

Each piece she makes is dyed by hand, incorporating a spectrum of stunning hues and a variety of patterns. You’ll find an assortment of cozy winter wear like hats, scarves, gloves, and headbands — all made with care and skill. Teresa also offers skeins of alpaca yarn for fellow fiber enthusiasts who want to knit their own unique creations.

And don’t forget to check out her best-selling super soft alpaca socks — a favorite at the market and a lifesaver when the temperatures drop.

🦙 What Makes Alpaca Fiber So Special?

• Alpaca fiber is naturally insulating, thanks to its hollow-core structure — keeping you warm in the cold and surprisingly cool in the heat. • It’s stronger than mohair and more durable than cashmere, yet soft enough for sensitive skin.

• Alpacas come in 22 natural colors, the broadest range of any fiber-producing animal — and Teresa’s yarns reflect that gorgeous natural palette. • It doesn’t pill easily, which means your alpaca garments will hold their beauty for years. • It’s an eco-friendly fiber — alpacas are gentle grazers, and the fiber requires minimal processing compared to traditional wool. Whether you’re shopping for a one-of-a-kind handmade gift, something warm for the winter ahead, or supplies for your next knitting project, Teresa’s booth is a must-visit. Come say hello and see the magic of alpaca up close!

Teresa will be accepting credit cards and you can also call her for special orders on 814-601- 0049. Catch Teresa at the Market — Saturday, May 24, 9am to 12pm at the Emporium Town Square!
