The Sterling Run Cemetery Needs Your Help!
The Sterling Run Cemetery is located on Route T302 at the bottom of Mason Hill in Sterling Run, Lumber Township, Cameron County.
It was originally called the Whiting Cemetery when it was organized in 1886 by H.L. Pearsall, M.W. Whiting, Alpheus Wylie, Joseph Kissel, and Tom Smith.
Throughout the years, many families of those resting in this cemetery made annual contributions so that the cemetery could be maintained. Unfortunately, many of those who donated have passed on and our funds are almost depleted.
While maintenance is minimal, we must hire someone to mow, trim around the gravestones, clean up fallen tree limbs and other debris, etc., so it is safe for all who visit.
With the spring season upon us, we are reaching out to the community for donations to help us keep the cemetery from falling into total disrepair.
This is the only source of funding since the cemetery is no longer actively used.
Please consider a modest donation in honor of your loved ones and friends resting there.
The Sterling Run Cemetery Association thanks you for making it possible for us to preserve a part of Cameron County’s history. Your help is very much appreciated.
To donate, please make checks payable to Sterling Run Cemetery Association and mail to:
