On Thursday, April 24th, the Mountaineer Search and Rescue team held their annual roadside cleanup.
The SAR team adopted Whittmore Hill from the Broad Street bridge to the top stop sign and for
the past 25 plus years, the SAR team has been cleaning up Whittmore Hill.
Noticing an accumulation of tires over several years, the team decided to spend one night removing them.
A total of 83 tires were pulled up over the bank and were collected within about one mile of the roadway.
