Rotary Club of Emporium
Rotarian John Kautz presented a program on a variety of Cameron County history facts and findings.
His talk began with the making of train rails. The first rails were made from 30' long and spliced rod iron made in Danville, PA. Steel rails began in 1875 and in 1890 became more common. He also brought in some old milk bottles, most were used and prepared here locally. John has been affiliated with the Cameron County Historical Society for many years.
