Verla P. Gavlock, 88, of Emporium, PA passed away at her residence in Emporium, PA on Thursday (January 9, 2025) morning following a lengthy illness. She was born September 29, 1936 in English Center, PA a daughter of the late Clair and Shirley Marshall. On January 22, 1955 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Renovo she married the late James A. Gavlock.
Verla graduated from Renovo High School in the class of 1954. She was a co-founder of Flowers N Things in Emporium where she worked until her retirement. Years ago she served on the Emporium Borough Council. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church and was a past C.D. of A. Regent. Verla loved to spend time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas A. Gavlock, Emporium; Eric A. Gavlock (Lolet), North Carolina; two grandchildren: Pauline and Martin Gavlock; and a brother, Allen Marshall, Michigan.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Graham and a brother, Eugene Marshall.
There will be No Visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at the St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Monday (January 13, 2025) at 10:30 AM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, as Celebrant.
Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium, PA
