Beldin had a game-high 25 points and completed the double-double by hauling in 15 rebounds.

Along with Beldin’s offensive performance, Dylan Guisto, Gavin Morton and Jon Good all made offensive contributions to put the Red Raiders, who won a PIAA game for the first time since 2015, up 23-10 at the end of the first quarter.

Good knocked down a pair of 3-pointers while Morton and Guisto each had one.

But Hayden Brown responded by knocking down a 3-pointer and Beldin added five more tallies as the Red Raiders finished the last two minutes on an 8-0 run and a 35-21 halftime lead.

Spring is on it's way!

October Woodworks and Gifts

I love to share news about Cameron County and its residents. My latest find is October Woodworks. Nicholas Cressley is the man behind all the action and this article he is allowing me to share describes what he does.

I love this sign Nick has made!

Follow Nick on his Facebook site https://www.facebook.com/octoberwoodworks

My name is Nicholas Cressley and I am the man behind the creations at October Woodworks. I have a bachelor’s degree in Art from IUP in Indiana PA where I currently reside with my wife, dog, and cat. I started woodworking when my dad gave me a few saws and clamps because I kept complaining about wanting to build things and not having the tools to build them. This led to the creation of a few projects for around my house (some of which are for sale in the shop today) and eventually led to the creation of October Woodworks.

I struggled to come up with a good name for my little side business and eventually decided to name it October because that is the month that I met and married my wife, who has given me many ideas and inspirations. If you didn’t know, I come from a family of woodworkers, my dad (The Half- Assed Carpenter) my uncle Abby, and my brother all have fully operational wood shops in Emporium PA where I was born and raised. I’m still learning, with guidance from my dad (and YouTube), different techniques and tools and I try to utilize these skills with each project that I make.

Woodworking is a side gig for me and I do it out of enjoyment not to make a fortune which is why I try to make the items that I put up for sale very reasonably priced. It feels awesome to be able to see someone smile when they receive something that I created in my shop and I look forward to seeing what’s to come for October.

10th Annual Bunny Hop 5K for Brain Aneurysm Awareness

10th Annual Bunny Hop 5K for Brain Aneurysm Awareness

 Benzinger Park
133 Fleming Road
St. Mary's, PA 15857

The Bunny Hop event supports the Brain Aneurysm Foundation with the funds to continue to create education and awareness materials, run support groups nationwide, and enables the brightest minds in the neurological field to continue their vital research. The generosity of participants, donors, sponsors and volunteers of this event, contribute to our mission to help save lives and improve outcomes for survivors.

The Bunny Hop story...

Over the past 10 years our tight-knit community has lost many loved ones due to brain aneurysm ruptures. Families of these people have teamed up in order to raise awareness about brain aneurysms as well as provide support and love to one another during a difficult time. Every Easter weekend, over 500 people crowd the park and help raise money and walk or run to show their belief in prevention or someday a cure. We hope to continue this event for many years to come, and to continue educating the community on signs and symptoms of aneurysms. Please join us!

When a brain aneurysm ruptures, it can happen to anyone, anywhere.
This event in nearby Saint Mary's is a great way to show your support !
