Barbara E. Pellam, 80, of Emporium, PA, passed away at Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys, PA, on Friday afternoon, October 2, 2026, following a lengthy illness.
She was born September 1, 1946, in Emporium, PA, a daughter of the late Robert and Hazel Housler Uber.
On September 27, 1969, at First United Methodist Church in Emporium, PA, she married James Pellam, who survives. Barb and Jim recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary.
Barb was a 1965 graduate of Cameron County High School. She worked at Sylvania and later at GKN, where she retired following many years of employment.
She was a woman who cherished her family and enjoyed the simple pleasures of home and community. Barb had been a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary and Endless Mountains Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and cooking, and took great pride in the things she made and shared with family and friends.
Barb will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Her greatest joy was her family, and the memories she created with them will be treasured by those who loved her.
In addition to her husband, James Pellam, she is survived by a son, Robert James Pellam (Carol), Goose Creek, SC; a daughter, Trisha Smith (Mike), St. Marys; three grandsons, Nathan Cozad, and Parker and Carl Smith; three sisters, Holly Dzemyan (John), Smethport, Frances Holterback (Glen), Emporium, and Sandra Miller (John), Kersey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Hazel Housler Uber.
There will be no visitation. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family at Barnett Funeral Home,.
Burial will be in Rich Valley Cemetery, Emporium, PA.
