The Northcentral Workforce Development Board, which serves Clearfield and Elk counties, has received a more than $323,000 grant to provide summer internships in our area through the State/Local Internship Program (SLIP). SLIP is 100 percent funded through federal money made available from the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
Statewide, SLIP distributed funding to 21 Local Workforce Development Boards that submitted proposals.
The program will operate this year for an eight-week period between May 1 and Aug. 28 for young adults between ages 16 and 24.
