Weekend of August 15 th & 16 th
Program Title: The Woods in Three Square – Guest Presenter
Date: Saturday, August 15 th

Location: Pavilion 2
Description: Come out to Sizerville State Park for a layered craft workshop!
The
Woods in Three Square owner, Cindy Swarner, will be hosting an in-person workshop at
Pavilion 2. There will be 2 options to pick from this year - an elk or a fox! No artistic
talent required—join us to make your own piece of wildlife art and wear something that
you don’t mind that gets messy!
Cost of this workshop will be $30 per person - please bring payment (cash or check
only!) to the park with you on the day of the workshop!

Program Title: Lumber Heritage Region – Guest Presenter
Date: Saturday, August 15 th
Time: 7:30 PM
Location: Campground Amphitheater
Description: Join LHR’s Education & Outreach Administrator, Rowan Crisp, as
she explores Pennsylvania’s rich lumbering past. View her collection of “Wood on
Glass” images showcasing the heyday of the logging era. Rowan will also show us
the "Pennsylvania Desert" of the 1920s and discuss the significance of the Civilian
Conservation Corps in shaping the forests and parks we cherish today—feel free
to bring snacks and a blanket!

Program Title: Nature Craft & Story
Date: Sunday, August 16 th
Time: 10:00 AM
Location: Environmental Learning Center
Description: Come down to the ELC and join the park educator for a short story
followed by a make and take craft. This week’s topic will be turtles!
