Temporary Closure of Cameron County Recreation Center for Facility Improvements
Cameron County Recreation would like to inform the community that the Cameron County Recreation Center will be temporarily closed due to ongoing construction and planned facility improvements. These renovations are part of a continued effort to enhance the building so it can better serve the needs of our children, families, and the broader community.
As a result of this construction, all programs, events, and activities scheduled within the facility will be paused for the duration of the closure. At this time, the anticipated closure period is approximately two months. While we hope the work will be completed as smoothly and efficiently as possible, this temporary closure is necessary to ensure a safe environment during renovations and to support the long-term functionality of the facility.
Although the Recreation Center will not be hosting events or programs during this time, Cameron County Recreation staff will remain available to answer questions, provide updates, and assist community members as needed.
These improvements represent an important investment in the future of Cameron County Recreation. We are confident they will result in a space that is safer, more functional, and better equipped to meet the needs of our community.
We understand that this temporary closure may cause inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate the patience and understanding of our families, participants, and community partners. The safety of our children, staff, and community members is our top priority in making this decision. We look forward to welcoming everyone back once construction is complete and sharing a recreation center that reflects our continued commitment to the community we serve.
