Emporium Rotary Club
On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, Rotarian Paige Rosenberger introduced Deb Eckenroth as her guest speaker. Deb's topic of choice was "The Aging Brain." From experience and research, she discovered that the process of Alzheimer Disease relates very closely to that of rearing a toddler, only in the reverse manner. Alzheimer patients only want to please but have difficulty making choices, decisions and correctly speaking to their wants and needs. Of course this varies from patient to patient and the depth of their disease. Deb presented a wonderful program and brought to the club some very informative information, including tips on how to slow or reduce the effects of this disease through exercise, diet, and more. If Alzheimer relates to you in any way, you can get more information on the subject by reaching out to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org or by calling (800)272-3900.
Our Tuesday Evening Club also met and with 6 in attendance, discussions varied from the care and welfare of our children in school systems to potential ideas of fundraising. We were delighted to have 2 "Jr. Rotarians" join us. Jett (age 4) and Jude (age 1) Costanzo, sons of Rotarian Emily Costanzo.
