Connie L. Bennett

Connie L. Bennett, 63, of Emporium, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Friday morning, January 16, 2026.

She was born on March 8, 1962, in St. Marys, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Ruth Goodrow Buck of Emporium and the late Clarence Buck. She was a 1980 graduate of Cameron County High School. On November 10, 1981, Connie and Rob went on their first date. Exactly 3 years later, November 10th, 1984, Connie married the love of her life in the Emporium Free Methodist Church. Connie and Rob were blessed to have each other for over 44 years!

Connie remained in Emporium for her entire life, where she and Rob raised their 2 children and where Connie became a town staple. She seemed to know anybody and everybody...and if she didn't know you now, you can bet she was about to. She had the ability to meet someone one minute and know their lifestory within the hour. So many friends (old and new) expressed how she checked up on them almost every day, a testament of her caring heart.

Over the years, Connie spent much of her time visiting others, especially the elderly. She was grateful for her many friends and could often be found talking to one in the store or on the street. If you didn't find her there, you might find her at the recycling center or doing yard work, which she said was her therapy. She also really enjoyed thrifting, yard sales, & the local Buy Nothing Group. Her favorite band was David & the Giants, whom she first met in 1987. It was at that concert that she decided to give her heart fully to Jesus. The band considered Connie both fan and friend, as she called and messaged the members frequently. So many memories were made with her parents, siblings, and kids, as well as many friends, playing board games over the years. Her absolute favorite game being Upwords, which she and Rob played almost every evening.

Connie was so proud of her kids and her 3 grandbabies, who loved their Grandma very much. She was always dropping something off that she had found for them and was always so impressed with the ways they were growing and learning.

Connie was an unwaveringly passionate advocate for the unborn, believing every life is valuable. She was a devoted member of Deeper Waters Ministries in Emporium, where she loved hearing the Word of God preached and sharing life with her brothers and sisters in Christ. More than anything else, Connie believed that following Jesus is the most important life-giving and life-changing decision that someone could ever make. If even one person comes to know Jesus' Truth and Love through her life, she would be so glad.

In addition to her mother Ruth and husband Robert C. Bennett Jr., Connie is survived by daughter, Kelly Spencer (Brandon); son, Christopher Bennett; three grandchildren, Ellee Hope, Omri Lee, and Jovie Brianne Spencer; & brother, Jeff Buck, all of Emporium; Sister, Michele Gausman (Chris) of St. Marys; sister-in-law, Cindy Ramsey (Alan); uncle, Bryan Goodrow of Bellefonte; nephews, Connor and Bryce Gausman of St. Marys, and Zach (Roxie) Ramsey of Biglerville; nieces, Katie Coppock (Chris) and Erin Lamb (Matt) of Westminster, MD; many more loved ones and an overwhelming amount of special friends that turned into family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Buck; grandmother, Mary Goodrow; sister, Pam Buck; sister, Marsha Buck (who died in infancy); mother-in-law, Lois Rader; and a nephew, Zachary Gausman.

The family will receive friends at the Emporium Alliance Church, Sizerville Road, Emporium, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 1:00 to 1:45 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM, with Rev. James Eastman, Pastor of Deeper Waters Ministries, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, Connie loved rocks. We encourage you to bring a rock (painted or unpainted) to share.
