Neil D. Deibler, 82, of Sinnemahoning, PA, passed away Monday morning, January 5, 2026, at Heritage Ridge at Windy Hill, Phillipsburg, PA.
He was born on July 29, 1943 and raised in a loving home in Treverton PA. Neil was united in marriage to Susan Kitchen, who survives.
Neil was a graduate of Trevorton High School. Following graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965. Upon returning home, Neil entered the PA State Police Academy and, after graduation, served in several counties throughout the Commonwealth. He concluded his distinguished law enforcement career with his retirement in 1995 from the Emporium Barracks.
Neil was an active member of several area organizations, including Shamokin Lodge #255, F. & A.M., and maintained lifelong friendships through his involvement in local clubs. He truly enjoyed socializing with friends and valued the camaraderie and fellowship they shared.
In addition to his wife, Susan, Neil is survived by a son, Calvin Deibler (Heather) of Darlington, MD; a daughter, Stacy; three grandchildren, Jackson, Sophie, and Savannah; a brother, Charles LaRose (Elaine) of Rutland, VT; a sister, Judy Strohecker of Dalmatia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Neil was preceded in death by a son who passed away in infancy.
There will be no visitation. A Masonic Service will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, PA, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM. A Military Service, accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail, will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Driftwood Emporium Lodge #532, F. & A.M., c/o Ivan “Buzzy” Baughman, 3295 Bucktail Trail Highway, Driftwood, PA 15832.
