CAMERON COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — A Cameron County borough will soon have another option for fuel.
Officials say a Marathon Petroleum gas station will be located at the former Sheetz building in Emporium. Carroll Motor Fuel --- a Maryland-based fuel distributor --- will operate under the "Marathon" brand. Borough manager Don Reed says it's expected to mirror Sheetz -- offering fast food, snacks, and fuel. He says the company plans to open the new gas station by mid-October.
“This is going to be huge, especially for people like police departments and emergency services that are around 24 hours a day, and it ends up being a late night for them, there's going to be a place open up. And that alone, it's really good news for us."
This would mark the fourth gas station in Emporium, alongside the Nittany Minit Mart.
