Shop Small Saturday  

Cameron County businesses hoping for a tremendous Shop Small Saturday this week. “For some of our local businesses this holiday season will determine if they remain open due to the restrictions placed on them by the state government Covid-19 orders,” says chamber executive director Tina Solak. A few of the businesses are extending hours, others have selected Saturday November 28 for customer appreciation and grand openings. 

Tipsy Gypsy located on East Fourth Street is the newest business to open its doors and is planning a grand opening. Come met the new owners of Pratts East End Beveridge while Flowers N Things hosts its annual customer appreciation with sales. Both Sunnyside Boutique and CDH Designs will have plenty of sales for holiday gift giving. 

When shoppers spend $10 at one of the participating, they will be given a ticket to be brought to the chamber of commerce. Each ticket will be entered into a drawing for prizes from the participating businesses. That drawing is set for 4pm Saturday. Food and drink establishments encourage you to start early with breakfast and stop in for lunch too. Pizza Palace Plus, Buttonwood Restaurant, Rich Valley Winery, Aroma Café, Fox’s Pizza Den and Cabin Kitchen will take part in the giveaway. Emporium Food Store will hand out tickets along with L&M Lumber, Reid’s Napa, Wine & Spirits Store and Hauss’s One Stop. 

Santa will make his first appearance on Saturday at Sarah Jane’s which has been transformed into A Christmas Time for the season. A Christmas Time Facebook Page will list all the events planned for the month of December.
