Richard L. “Lee” Rolls, Jr., 58, of Emporium, PA, formerly of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh on Thursday (April 16, 2026) afternoon with his loving sisters by his side.
Born on August 31, 1967, in St. Marys, PA, he was the son of the late Richard L. Rolls and Melinda “Linda” Tripp Rolls. Lee was also preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife, Anne Cannon.
Lee graduated from Cameron County High School in 1985, where he was known as Rick. Lee proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1985 to 1987. In earlier years, he was a dedicated member of the Emporium Fire Department and an EMT for the Emporium Ambulance Service. He spent many years working as a salesman for Sprint Cellular Network in Nebraska, where he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of colleagues and customers alike. Three years ago, he returned home to Emporium. For the past year, Lee worked in the deli at Surefine Market.
Lee will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, and devotion to his family. He found great joy in spending time with those he loved and cherished the connections he maintained throughout his life.
He is survived by his sisters, Bernadette Summerson (Daniel) of Emporium and Paula Wolfanger (Frank) of Emporium; his nephews and niece, Dalton Summerson, David Wolfanger (Kansas), and Samantha Wolfanger (Lucas Knight); and his great-nieces, Bella and Ryden Miller who held a special place in his life.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family, and there will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to assist the family with final expenses and may be mailed to Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. 4th Street, Emporium, PA 15834.
