CC Historical Society's Spring Event Honors Revolutionary War Veterans

Cameron County Historical Society's Spring Event on April 18, 2026 will honor Revolutionary War Veterans buried here in Cameron County.

The 2026 spring event is Saturday April 18, 2026 2:00 PM at the VFW in Emporium.

John Ramage, Adam Logue, Eilhu Chadwick, John Barr, and Benjamin Brooks Sr. were amazing men who not only did they help to create our nation, they hele Cameron County.

Celebrating these amazing five men after 250 years and sharing their stories to and to think some of them fought alongside General George Washington is so exciting to us history buffs. Members of our Board of Directors will present not only their time in the military, but what became of them thereafter bringing themselves and their families to our wilderness.

Some of the members of the Cameron County Historical Society Board have done a tremendous amount of research to bring to life these amazing five men. One has to remember that the ordeal and struggles they endured were so severe that by coming here they found peace and solace. They came here between 1811-1817 as pioneers to built a future for themselves and their families that built a legacy 250 years after that still remains today which is Cameron County.

Benjamin Brooks Sr. tombstone inscription says it best; "Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright, for the end of that man is Peace." Psalm 37:37

This spring event is FREE to anyone who wants to come. Refreshments will be provided.

Mark your calendar bring a friend and come learn about these amazing pioneers who helped in forming a new nation. When they came here they brought with them the grit to survive under extreme circumstance that remains the backbone of what we are today.

Looking forward to seeing you there. Saturday April 18m 2026 at the VFW at 2:00 PM
