OLEAN, N.Y. — A Rochester developer has big plans for an Olean shopping center at a make-or-break time for many traditional malls.
Angelo Ingrassia, based at 550 Latona Road in Rochester, plans to renovate and reimagine to the tune of about $20 million the interior and exterior of the Olean Center Mall. The developer is seeking tax breaks from the Cattaraugus County Industrial Development Agency, according to a recent meeting agenda.
“When completed, the mall transformation will provide new retail and other commercial opportunities, while fostering a new mix of retail, residential and commercial land uses, and expanding Olean’s business district,” said Ingrassia’s attorney Stephen Hall in a letter to the agency.
