Marsha Ellen Lamont

Marsha Ellen Lamont, 80, of Emporium, PA, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, following a short illness. She was born on December 27, 1943 in Spangler, PA; a daughter of the late John and Alverta Fletcher Polites. On June 22, 1963 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bakerton, PA; she married Edward P. Lamont, who survives. They were happily married for sixty years.

Marsha graduated from the first graduating class of Cambria Heights High School in Patton, PA; the Class of 1961. Throughout her life Marsha embraced the roles of homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother with love and grace. Marsha was known by so many for her remarkable talent as a pizza maker. Her famous pizzas will always be remembered by the countless individuals who found it impossible to stop at just one slice.

In addition to her loving husband Edward, she is survived by: daughter, Jacqueline (Pete) Grimone, Canonsburg, PA; son, Edward (Monica) Lamont Jr, Ft Lauderdale, FL; daughter, Sandra (Stan) Dunsmore, Wellsboro, PA; and daughter, Francine (the late Nick) Guisto, Emporium, PA. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Bethany (Kyle) Vogt, Breanna (Derek) Burdick, Hilliary (Matt) Anderson, Anthony (Victoria) Grimone, Holly (Jordan) Garrigan, Brooke (Brock) Sloan, S. Andrew Grimone, Macy (Connor) Hutchinson, Eddie Lamont, James Guisto, Kendyl (Jarek) Holjencin, Kamme Guisto, Seven Lamont, and Winn Lamont and nine great grandchildren: Gavin and Rae Anderson, Ace Burdick, Reagan and Drake Sloan, Belle and Everly Vogt, Liliana Holjencin, and Lainey Garrigan, all of whom she adored dearly.

Marsha is also survived by a brother, Joel (Andrea) Polites, Northern Cambria, PA; brother, Tom (Carol) Polites, Ebensburg, PA; sister in law, Pauline Polites, Carrolltown, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Lonnie Polites, infant brother, John Polites, and son in law, Nick Guisto.

To honor her wishes, no visitation will be held. A funeral mass with luncheon to follow will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Saint Mark Catholic Church, Emporium, PA, with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, as celebrant.

May Marsha rest in peace and may those who loved her find comfort in cherished memories.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Marsha's memory may make a contribution to Penn Highlands Hospice at 757 Johnsonburg Road, St. Marys, PA 15857.
