The Tyler Bender EMS Scholarship Fund is officially open for applications!
Application Period: January 15 – March 7 at midnight
Award Amount: $500
Eligibility: One applicant from the EMS West Region will be selected to receive $500 toward their EMR, EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic schooling.
This is the second year of this scholarship—how exciting! 🎉
Tyler Bender, a 2023 graduate of the Center for Emergency Medicine, created this scholarship to give back to the EMS community. Recognizing the ongoing shortage of well-trained EMS professionals, Tyler hopes this scholarship will encourage individuals to enter the field and support their education.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, applicants must:
✅ Reside in the EMS West Region (Counties: Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Cameron, Clearfield, Elk, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, McKean, Potter, Washington, and Westmoreland).
✅ Be registered and accepted into an EMR, EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic program.
✅ Provide proof of affiliation with an EMS agency within the EMS West Region (Signed letter from service manager/director with their contact information).
The Tyler Bender EMS Scholarship Fund is managed by the Elk County Community Foundation.
