Step back in time to the 1800s with an incredible program celebrating history, courage, and resilience! Join us on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 3:30 to 4:30 PM at the Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library as we learn about the life and legacy of Daniel Hughes, a lumber raftsman who played a key role in assisting Freedom Seekers on their journey to freedom.
Ms. Rowan Crisp from Lumber Heritage Region of Pennsylvania, Inc. will present the history of Daniel Hughes’ inspiring story and efforts for justice and the history of Pennsylvania's lumber industry and its connections to The Underground Railroad!
This program is for children ages 9 and up.
The event is FREE and no registration is required.
This is a unique opportunity to honor the past and learn about our shared history.
