Cornelia M. "Conny" Noah

Cornelia M. "Conny" Noah, 91, of East 6th Street, passed away in the comfort of her own home surrounded by family and friends Tuesday (Aug. 27, 2024).

Born Nov. 14, 1932, in Giesing, Germany, Conny was the daughter of the late Karl A. Braun and Maria (Schafft) Braun. Conny met the late William A. "Bill" Noah of Emporium when he was stationed in Germany with the U.S. Air Force in 1952. Bill retired in 1972 as a senior master sergeant after 22 years of service. Bill and Conny relocated back to Emporium, to Bill's family home on 6th Street.

Conny, in addition to being a dedicated homemaker, was a beacon of service in her community. Her 10-year tenure on the Cameron County School Board, her leadership in Girl Scouts, her work at the voting polls during elections, and her generous contributions to various charities and organizations, including the SPCA, St. Jude and American Cancer Society, are a testament to her selflessness and dedication.

Conny is survived by one sister, Monika Lutz of Offenbach, Germany; five children including three sons, William E. Noah of Mesa, Ariz., Karl M. (Kathy) Noah of Fredrick, Md., and Thomas C. (Lori) Noah of Mesa; and their two daughters, Penny J. Hoffman of Fredrick and Irene M. Lion of Phoenix; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends she considered family.

Conny was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Noah; one daughter, Tina A. (Jeff) Wood; and three sisters, Gerdi Strobl, Ursula Jautze and Christine Nyskens.

The memorial service will be limited to immediate family and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cameron County SPCA.

Arrangements are under direction of Coppersmith-Condon Funeral Home.
