George S. Button, Jr., 79, of Front St., passed away Wednesday (Nov. 22, 2023) in his home.
Born October 22, 1944, in Renovo, PA, he was a son of George S. and Mary E. Saxton Button.
George was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of the Smethport Area High School, class of 1965.
He was employed with the Emporium School District in the maintenance department, for several years, before his retirement.
Surviving is a brother, Landis A. (Melonie) Button of Smethport; two sisters, Nancy L. (Neil) Freer of Turtlepoint, Roseltha J. (Charles) Becker of Roulette; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Harriett J. Button, Evon M. Butler and Mary E. Frost.
At George’s request, there will be no funeral service.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
