Skilled Nursing Care may be ending at Guy & Mary Felt Manor
Many local people have heard the sad news, so I am making a general post on this. I haven't seen an official release from Guy & Mary Felt Manor, but it has been reported on in this week's edition of the CC Echo and families with loved ones residing on the skilled nursing side have been contacted about placing their families in other nursing facilities.
So far, only the skilled nursing side of Felt Manor is slated to be closed. The assisted side of Guy & Mary Felt is supposed to remain open. Money issues as well as lack of skilled nursing care is said to be affecting the current state of the Manor.
I am sure anyone residing in or near Cameron County is sad to hear this.
In my younger years, I worked at the Manor for about 7 years, so this facility provided not only jobs but care close to home for anyone needing it. A few of my family members also had to reside at the Manor in the past. Being able to visit them daily or multiple times a day was a blessing.
