Gerald E. "Jerry" Gutgsell, 87, of 48 Wheaton Hollow Road, Emporium, PA passed away at his residence on Tuesday morning (September 20, 2022). He was born February 17, 1935 in Germania, PA a son of the late Norman and Frances Duquette Gutgsell. On October 31, 1970 in Dover, Delaware he married the late Luzdelia"Lucy" Dominguez Gutgsell.
Jerry retired from the US Air Force after 20 years. After retirement he lived in Miami for 23 years before moving back to PA in 2006. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion and St. Mark Catholic Church. Jerry was also an avid deer hunter and puzzle lover. He always looked forward to his weekly card games with his friends.
He is survived by three children, Thomas A. Gutgsell, Edith F. Gutgsell and Robert E. Gutgsell, all of Felton, Delaware; two grandchildren: Katrina and Gerald also of Felton, Delaware; two brothers, Glenn Gutgsell, Emporium and Mark Gutgsell, Idaho; sister, Venita Myszkowski, California, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Gutgsell and a sister, Mary Erickson.
There will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at the St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Saturday (October 1, 2022) at 10:00 AM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, as Celebrant. A Military Service will be held following the Mass by the Cameron County Memorial Detail.
Burial will be in the Germania Cemetery, Germania, PA
