Dorothy J. "Dottie" Skinner Rush Beck

 

Dorothy J. "Dottie" Skinner Rush Beck, 77, of Pleasant Ridge Manor, Girard, PA, formerly of Port Allegany and Emporium died at Pleasant Ridge Manor on Thursday (December 10, 2020) morning following a lengthy illness. She was born May 9, 1943 in Renovo, PA a daughter of the late Horton LeRoy and Lena Moore Skinner.

 On February 13, 1999 in Faith Baptist Church, Emporium she married Richard Beck, Sr., who survives. Dottie's first husband was Eldon George Rush to whom she was married over 34 years. She graduated from Port Allegany High School in the class of 1962. Years ago she worked at Ethan Allen in Eldred as a seamstress and later worked at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital as a head cook for over fifteen years. In 2014, after retiring, she started Dotties Pilot Car Service. She was a member of Gideons International and the Faith Baptist Church and later the Elk Baptist Church in St. Marys. 

Dottie is survived by her husband Richard Beck, Sr.; a daughter, Rhonda J. Rush, Erie; son, Wayne L. (Gwendelyn) Rush, Port Allegany; step-sons, Richard (Tamara) Beck, Jr., Coalport and Stephen Beck, Sligo; step-daughter, Jennifer (Scott) Lynds, Warren; three grandchildren: Ashley Hobbs, Jessey and Mara Rush; several step-grandchildren; four brothers, Donald Skinner, Coudersport; Jan Skinner, Oneida, FL; Leslie Skinner, Roulette and Horton Skinner, Jr., Orlando, FL. 

In addition to her parents and first husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Galford and a brother, LeRoy Skinner. 

There will be No Visitation. Memorial Service will be announced by the family at a later date. 

Burial will be in the Portage Valley Cemetery (Wrights), Port Allegany, PA. 

If desired, Memorials may be made to Gideons International.
