Connell Wayne Philp, 65, of Clearfield, PA passed away at his home peacefully in his sleep on September 11, 2026. A loyal brother and friend, he will be sadly missed by those he leaves behind. Connell was born on January 19, 1961 in Kittanning, the only son of the late Charylene Henry Philp and Nelson L. Philp, Jr.
From a young age, Connell helped his maternal grandparents, James T. and Martha McCall Henry, on their family farm in Porter Township, Clarion County. He grew up driving tractors and dirt bikes and loving the time he spent racing through the farm roads with his cousins during the summers spent there.
Connell was a member of the 1979 graduating class of Cameron County High School in Emporium, PA and enjoyed attending the class reunions and staying in touch with friends and classmates. While in school, Connell played tuba in the band and was fortunate enough to perform with them at Disneyworld. He also delivered the Bradford Era newspaper and worked at the Arco gas station in Emporium.
After graduation, Connell worked for several years at Central Environmental Services in Clearfield, PA. Farm life beckoned again when his parents bought a farm in the Knox area and he spent many years helping on the farm and later assisting with the care of his parents so that they were able to live out their days on the farm.
Sadly, his life ended abruptly, but peacefully, after a few months of cardiac-related issues. Connell was devoted to his family and a true friend to many. He is survived by sisters Karen Grosch of St. Augustine, FL, Jennifer (Greg) Shufran of Bellefonte, PA, and Valerie (Keith) Walter of Altoona, PA, along with many nieces and nephews.
The family invites you to visitation from 1:00 to 2:30 PM on Thursday September 17, 2026 at Edenburg Presbyterian Church, 405 Main St, Knox, PA. The funeral service with Pastor Sarah Sedgwick officiating will take place at 2:30. Private interment will follow at Rimbersburg Cemetery.
