Terry L. Stanton, age 73, of Driftwood, Elk County, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026. He was born April 24, 1952, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, the son of Michael and Helena Irene (Prisbylla) Stanton.
Terry proudly served in the United States Navy, where he often shared stories from his time aboard the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid. Following his service, he went on to retire from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR).
Though he grew up just outside the city, Terry found his true home in the mountains of the PA Wilds. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Later in life, he could often be found riding around checking on camps for friends, splitting firewood, or tinkering in his garage.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved son, Clinton Matthew Stanton. It brings comfort to know he is now resting peacefully alongside Clint, his mom, his dad “Pops,” and his loyal dog, Opie.
He is survived by his brother, Michael R. (Colleen) Stanton of Apex, North Carolina, nieces, Tamara Arrington and Kimberly Coleman; nephew, Joshua Stanton; as well as many cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
In accordance with Terry’s wishes, there will be no viewing or visitation. He will be laid to rest on Monday, March 30, 2026 at 11 am with a Prayer Service and Military Honors in the Chapel in Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania and buried alongside his parents and son.
