Susan E. Glessner

Susan E. Glessner, 58, of Friedens, PA, went peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to sing with the heavenly chorus, while surrounded by her family, on December 10, 2025, at Conemaugh Hospital.

Born December 16, 1966, to Walter and Donna (Hanks) Holly.

Survived by her parents, Husband David, son Shawn of Friedens and Sister Karen Melton (Thad) of Hampton Roads, VA. She is also survived by brother-in-law Dan Glessner (companion Juliette Tarry) of Pelzer, SC, and sister-in-law Catherine Mahoney (Jon) of Belington, WV.
Sue dearly loved her nieces and nephews, Kurtis Mahoney (companion Brittany Spencer) of Belington, WV, Katelyn Mahoney (companion PJ Kester) of Wilmington, NC, Kara Mayer of Franklin, TN, Heather Martin (Chris) of Newport News, VA, and Jonathan Mayer (Alexis) of New Port News, VA.
Sue adored her grand-nephews, Maverick Mahoney, Luke Martin and Gavin Martin.

She was a member of the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, where she served as Assistant Music Director for nearly 20 years. She was also a receptionist at Geochemical Testing, where she enjoyed working with her husband, Dave.
Susan graduated from Cameron County High School and from Indiana University of PA with a degree in music education. Sue’s love for music began early, as she sang with her sister in various groups and events as a child. In addition to solos, she sang with the Laurel Highlands Chorale, the Chord of Grace Trio, and the Still Singing Quartet. As the praise and worship leader, she wanted the congregation at St. Paul’s to worship in a God-honoring and Christ-exalting manner. Her talents and her ministry at St. Paul’s will be missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St’ Paul’s Presbyterian Church at a later date.
The family would like to thank the UPMC staff, the Select Specialty staff and the staff at Crichton Rehabilitation Center for their excellent care. Dave and Shawn are especially thankful for Pastor Mike Dunlap, Pastor Scott Seltzer, and the congregation at St. Paul’s for their love, support, and prayers during the last four months of Sue’s life.
Contributions may be made to St’ Paul’s Presbyterian Church, 1845 N. Center Ave., Somerset, PA 15501. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home.
Condolences may be made at www.halversonfuneralhome.com.
