🚨 BREAKING: Cameron County ADOPTS Wind Turbine Ordinance 🚨
This is a great day for Cameron County — and for McKean County as well.

We have now received confirmation from the Cameron County Courthouse that the Cameron County Commissioners voted today to adopt their Wind Turbine Ordinance.
Why this matters locally:
Black Cherry Wind leases extend into Cameron County.
What Cameron County does directly affects what can and cannot happen on shared ridgelines, watersheds, wildlife corridors, and viewsheds that impact our communities here in McKean County.
This ordinance represents Cameron County stepping up to protect:
• Public health and safety
• Property owners and non-participating landowners
• Wildlife, groundwater, and scenic resources
 • The long-term character of the PA Wilds
📌 Notably: We are told by an attendee that Swift Current Energy did NOT attend this meeting.

At a meeting where rules governing industrial wind development were being finalized — rules that directly affect Swift Current Energy’s Black Cherry Wind Project — the developer was reportedly absent.

 Communities showed up.
 County officials showed up.
 The developer did not.
That absence speaks volumes.

This ordinance adoption follows a growing pattern we are seeing across the region:
• Developers are being challenged instead of accommodated
• Claims are being scrutinized instead of accepted at face value
 • Local governments are asserting their authority to protect residents

Cameron County’s action strengthens the regional pushback against careless, poorly vetted, and community-disruptive wind development.

We applaud the Cameron County Commissioners and residents who stayed engaged through this process. Their decision helps protect their county — and ours.
More to come once official minutes are released.
For now, this is a moment worth recognizing and sharing.
✅ Momentum matters.
✅ Local control matters.
✅ Community engagement works.
 Please share.
