Lumber Heritage Region Announces 2025/2026 Mini Grant Program
The Lumber Heritage Region (LHR) is excited to announce that applications are now open for the 2025/2026 Mini Grant Program. This annual funding opportunity supports projects that celebrate, preserve, and promote the rich lumbering heritage of northwestern and north central Pennsylvania.
Mini Grants typically award up to $5,000 with a required 50/50 match from recipients, which may be provided as cash and/or in-kind contributions.
Projects requesting more than $5,000 will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Funding for this program is made possible through the Pennsylvania Heritage Areas Program Fund, administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), Bureau of Recreation and Conservation.
Key Dates:
• Application Deadline: September 30, 2025 (4:00 PM)
• Grant Awards Announced: October 29, 2025
• Project Completion Deadline: October 29, 2026
Since its inception, the LHR Mini Grant Program has helped fund dozens of projects across the region, supporting historic preservation, cultural conservation, recreation, and educational initiatives.
“The LHR mini grant program has leveraged nearly a million dollars for projects in our small communities. We are expecting this year to be super competitive as we know of many great projects just waiting to be funded.” — Holly Komonczi, Executive Director, Lumber Heritage Region
The program is open to nonprofits, municipalities, educational institutions, and community organizations located within the 15-county Lumber Heritage Region: Cambria, Cameron, Centre, Clarion, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Forest, Indiana, Jefferson, Lycoming, McKean, Potter, Tioga, and Warren.
