Labor Day Programs at Sinnemahoning State Park

 

Labor Day Programs at Sinnemahoning State Park
 Summer may be coming to an end, but we have a full holiday weekend of programs planned to help you and your family close out the summer and kick off fall. 
We hope your Labor Day Weekend plans will include a visit to Sinnemahoning State Park!
 See below for a full listing of this weekend’s programs. 

Friday, August 29th, 2025 8:00 P.M 9:00 P.M 
Campground Movie: The Incredible Journey of the Butterflies
Join a park naturalist for a showing of The Incredible Journey of the Butterflies and learn about the Monarch Butterfly’s long migration down to Mexico. 
 Meets at: Campground Amphitheater 

 Saturday, August 30th, 2025 10:00 A.M 12:00 P.M 
Ride the Rail Trail– Enjoy a guided ride through the park on the Lowlands Trail. 
Bring your own bike or check out one of the park’s loaner bikes. A park educator will lead the trip. 
Pre-registration is required if you plan to use one of the park's bikes 
 Meets at: Wildlife Center

 Saturday, August 30th, 2025 3:00 P.M 5:00 P.M 
Introduction to Archery– Have you ever wanted to give archery a try?
 This program will cover the basics of archery, including bow types, shooting form, and safety.
 Open to participants ages 10 and older, this program requires pre-registration.
 Meets at: Wildlife Center

 Saturday, August 30th, 2025 7:00 P.M 8:30 P.M 
Trivia Night– Looking for a fun activity on Labor Day Weekend?
 Come on down to Sinnemahoning State Park and play trivia. 
Find out who knows S'more about nature, history and state parks! 
This program is open to all ages and is a great family activity.
 A prize will be awarded to the winning team. 
 Meets at: The Campground Amphitheater

 Sunday, August 31st, 2025 1:00 P.M 3:00 P.M 
Monarch Watch Butterfly Tagging– head out into the park to catch, tag, and release monarch butterflies. Aerial nets provided. Wear closed-toe shoes and be prepared to walk through fields. All ages welcome. Meets at: Wildlife Center Classroom 

 Sunday, August 31st, 2025 5:00 P.M.-6:30 P.M.
Campfire Cooking– Tired of the same old campfire food? Join a park educator and explore an exciting new recipe that you can make using cast iron cookware and a campfire.
 Pre-registration is required for this program.
 Meets at: The Wildlife Center

 Monday, September 1st, 2025
 Pontoon Tours of the Stevenson Reservoir-
Join park staff for a fun and informative 1-hour tour, as we cruise the shoreline of the George B. Stevenson Reservoir in search of wildlife. Group size is limited. To reserve a seat, please pre-register. Pre-registration is not required but is strongly recommended. 
There is no fee for regular Sunday interpretive pontoon boat tours, but DONATIONS ARE REQUESTED.
 Meets at: Lake Day Use Area 
 Pontoon Tour Times 9:00 A.M.-10:00 A.M. 10:30 A.M.-11:30 A.M. 12:30 P.M.-1:45 P.M.
