January Programs at Sinnemahoning State Park

 

Start the new year out right with a trip to Sinnemahoning State Park! 
Below are the upcoming programs for next month.

Wednesday, January 1st, 2025 10:00A.M.-12:00 P.M -First Day Hike- 
Start the New Year on the right foot with a relaxing 2-mile guided hike on mostly level trails. 
Focus your attention and learn to make observations in nature while investigating the various ecosystems along the way with a park naturalist. 
 Meets at: Wildlife Viewing Area

Saturday, January 11th, 2025 12:00 P.M.-1:00 P.M -Virtual: Secrets of the Snowy Owl- 
Snowy Owls exist at the top of the world where they rarely encounter people. In winter some move south occasionally crossing paths with us here in Pennsylvania. Tune in virtually and join a park naturalist and learn about the lives of these northern visitors and how to increase your chances of seeing one in the wild. Registration is required for this virtual program.

Saturday, January 18th, 2025 12:00 P.M.-2:00 P.M -Cross Country Skiing for Beginners - 
Join a park educator, for a fun lesson on the popular sport of cross-country skiing. Program will begin indoors with an introduction to cross country skiing equipment and styles, followed by a guided practice instruction on level ground, then a short excursion on the trail. Saturday, January 25th, 2025 12:00 P.M.- 2:00 P.M. –Winter Walk, 
Making Observations in Nature– Get out and get active by joining a park naturalist for a winter walk and learning to make observations in nature. Dress in layers and plan to be outside and active.
