Mildred “Millie” M. Clark

 


Mildred “Millie” M. Clark, 85, of Rich Valley Road, Emporium, PA passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Penn Highlands Elk, Saint Marys, PA. She was born on November 25, 1935 in Clarence, PA, the youngest child of Ignac and Anna Hramotnik McClusick (Miklusak). 

She was preceded in death by her parents; 9 brothers: Joseph, John, George, Albert, Joseph J., Andrew, Edward, Stephan, and Michael; 4 sisters: Anne, Mary, Helen, and Dorothy; one child in infancy, Anthony; one daughter-in-law, Jackie Clark. 

She was a cheerleader and a member of the last graduating class from Snow Shoe High School in 1953. Mildred worked as an administrative assistant in the engineering department at Sylvania in Emporium. On October 20, 1956, she married the love of her life, Roger B. Clark, at St. Michaels Church in Clarence, PA. They celebrated 57 years of marriage before Roger’s death in May 2014. 

Mrs. Clark was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, taught CCD, led small groups, and was a eucharistic minister at St. Marks RCC in Emporium for many years. She was known for her Slovak cooking and baking learned from her mother and sisters. She enjoyed bicycling, dancing (especially polkas), flower gardening, reading, travel, X-C skiing, and visiting with her family and friends. 

Millie is survived by 4 sons: Brian (Colleen) Clark, Esq. of Lahaska, PA; Mark Clark, Emporium; Dr. David (Jessica) Clark, Clarks Summit, PA; Dr. William (Gina) Clark, Russell, PA; one daughter: June (Joel) Caldwell, of Coudersport, PA.; 9 grandchildren: Brian Jr., Timothy, Jada, Jasmine, Philip, Meredith, Mariel, Nataly, and Anthony; one great-grandchild: Madelynn; and numerous nieces and nephews. She joyfully anticipated welcoming two more great-grandchildren this spring. 

Those wishing to make a memorial may do so to the American Diabetes Association or the Major Thomas E. Clark Scholarship Fund, c/o Northwest Bank, 2 E Fourth Street, Emporium, PA 15834. 

There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at the St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, as Celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium, PA
