CC Farmers Market Welcomes Yelena Kisler, Head Librarian

Our amazing librarian!!

Cameron County Farmers Market
We’re excited to welcome back Yelena Kisler, Head Librarian at the Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library, to the Cameron County Farmers Market!

Yelena will once again be bringing the library’s wonderful Seed Library to the market, offering a fantastic opportunity for our community to dig into gardening this spring. Whether you’re dreaming of fresh vegetables, colorful flowers, or simply trying your hand at growing something new, the Seed Library has something for everyone.

Available seeds include a variety of heirloom, non-GMO vegetables and ornamentals, with no seeds older than three years. Most are provided through the incredible non-profit Seed Savers Exchange along with generous local donations from fellow gardeners in our community.

Best of all — no library card is required to participate!

If you’re new to gardening or looking for a little extra guidance, Yelena will have plenty of helpful resources available, including growing instructions, seed-saving information, garden planning tools, and tips for a successful season. She’s always happy to answer questions and help gardeners of all experience levels get started.

More resources can be found online: like how to save seeds, plan your garden, and a printable garden journal. Check it all out here: https://barbaramoscatobrownlibrary.org/seed-library/ Already have heirloom, non-GMO seeds and want to share? Seed donations are always appreciated and help keep this amazing community resource growing.

Yelena will only be setting up at our next market on Saturday, May 23, from 9am to 12pm at the Emporium Town Square, so make sure to stop by, chat gardening, swap tips, and pick up some seeds to start your own growing adventure!
