Mary E. “Ellen” Miller

Mary E. “Ellen” Miller, 77, of Emporium, PA, formerly of Driftwood, PA, passed away at Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium, PA on Monday morning, February 2, 2026, following a lengthy illness. She was born October 27, 1948 in St. Marys, PA, a daughter of the late Arthur and Edna Smith Moate. On June 20, 1970, in the former Methodist Church in Castle Garden, PA, she married Raymond L. Miller, who survives.

Mary was a graduate of Cameron County High School and the Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing. She furthered her education at Carlow College and Indiana University of PA. She worked for many years as a nurse at DuBois Regional Hospital. Mary truly loved her family and especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Raymond, she is survived by two daughters, Christine Miller of Florida and Amanda Miller of Soddy Daisy, TN; one son, Raymond Miller (Michele) of Darlington, PA; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Judy Yonkin of Galeton; two brothers, Clyde Moate (Debbie) of Emporium and Paul Moate of Missouri; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Edna Smith Moate; one sister, Madeline Carol Friday; and one brother, Arthur Moate.

There will be no visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held at Mix Run Cemetery, Driftwood, PA on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Kenneth Bailey officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
