Harry L. “Larry” Caton, 90, of Emporium, PA, passed away peacefully at Guy and Mary Felt Manor early Saturday morning, February 14, 2026, with family at his side. Born in Emporium on January 16, 1936, he was the son of the late Earl and Ruth Finn Caton. On February 4, 1956, he married his beloved wife, Patricia A. Fapore, at St. Mark Catholic Church; she preceded him in death.
Larry was a graduate of Emporium High School, Class of 1953. He proudly owned and operated the former Emporium Service Center for more than 40 years, where he was well known for his strong work ethic, honesty, and dedication to the community. He was a lifetime member of the May Hollow Sportsmen’s Club and a member of the Emporium Vets Club.
Throughout his life, Larry enjoyed spending time at camp with family and friends. He loved cooking for family gatherings and special events. He spent many years fishing, hunting, and golfing. At home, he enjoyed watching football and Penn State wrestling and listening to Willie’s Roadhouse. His favorite weekend activity was a Saturday morning visit to the May Hollow Sportsmen’s Club. Larry (“Papa”) proudly talked about his grandchildren and great‑grandchildren and cherished every moment he spent with them.
He is survived by his daughters, Laura (David) Greene of Emporium and Elaine (Mark) Kesterholt of Mooresville, North Carolina; his sons, Lawrence P. “LP” Caton of Emporium and Russell E. Caton of Emporium; nine grandchildren and eight great‑grandchildren; his brothers, Donald (Gayle) Caton and Michael Caton, both of Emporium; his sister, Donna Grube of Kane; his sisters‑in‑law, Regina Caton of Emporium and Grace (Bill) Wright of Great Falls, VA; and his brothers‑in‑law, Michael “Mick” Fapore, Dennis (JoAnn) Fapore, and Donald (Debra) Fapore, all of Emporium.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, David “Butch” Caton; his brother and sister‑in‑law, Sam and Janet Fapore; his brother‑in‑law, Jack Grube; and cherished companion, Sarah Yount.
A memorial service will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, PA, on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for Larry may be made to the May Hollow Sportsmen’s Club, 189 May Hollow Rd., Driftwood, PA 15832; Guy and Mary Felt Manor, 110 E. 4th Street, Emporium, PA 15834; or a charity of the donor’s choice.
