Emporium Rotary Club
On February 17th, the Emporium Rotary Club held their annual 4-Way Speech Contest.
This contest is open to any 9th through 12th grade student. This year four contestants, working with Ms. Jocelyn Bash, HS Speech and English teacher, presented a 5-7 minute speech on a topic of their choice. Each speech must incorporate our Rotary 4-Way Test of "Is it the Truth, Is it Fair to all Concerned, Will it Build Goodwill and Better Friendships and Will it be Beneficial to all Concerned".
Each participant did an excellent job in preparation and presentation. Our Club winner will then move to the Regional level held in State College and if a win, will then move on to the District level.
As the winner moves forward, monetary denominations increase, but also, the requirements to win begin to get a bit more challenging.
This year's winner is Aria Magaro with Emmylina Smith as first runner up, next placed was Mazie Mackey and then Caylie Dixon.
As mentioned, each presenter did an amazing job and kudos to each of them!
