Seeking volunteers: Due to budget cuts at the Seneca Highlands IU9, the van used for inter-library loan delivery in Mckean, Elk, Cameron, and Potter counties is discontinued. The libraries in these counties are looking for "book mules": volunteers who are willing to deliver library books between libraries to defer the cost of shipping the books.
For example, if you live in Port Allegany, but are going to Bradford for work, an appointment, or shopping, stop by the libraries and see if there are any books you can deliver between the libraries. The library staff and patrons would be very grateful for your community service! Thank to those patrons who are already helping out the S.W. Smith Memorial Library as "book mules."
