Rotarian and Commissioner, Lori Reed, was the speaker at the Rotary luncheon meeting April 18th. Lori reviewed many of the accomplishments of the Commissioners in the first 16 months of their term including industry tours, PILT Tax increase, implementation of quarterly budget meetings with department heads to stay on track with county budget, along with various state tax proposals and other items impacting the county.
Mason Shaffer a Junior at CCHS was the 1st place winner of the Rotary 4 Way Speech Contest held at the Regional level in Clearfield April 22 with her speech on Girl’s Right to Education. The 4 Way Speech Contest incorporates the Rotary 4 Way Test:
· Is it the TRUTH
· Is it FAIR to all concerned
· Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS
· Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned
Mason will move on to the District contest at Split Rock in May. Emporium Rotary congratulations this fine young lady on her accomplishment and wishes her well at the District level.
